In the morning of 30 January 2015, DEZA held the Wrap-up Conference on its professional tasks and Party work implementation in 2014 integrated with the Conference for Officials in 2015.

In 2014, DEZA continued to make progress in a number of significant fields and reaffirmed its key role in the provincial economy. It certified for 14 investment projects, achieving 200% of the target plan (increased by 75% compared to 2013), with the registered capital of $1,920 billion, reaching 1.252% of the target (15-fold increased compared to 2013); 03 new projects came into operation. In addition, the Authority also adjusted the investment certificates for 12 projects. Until the end of 2014, Dung Quat Economic Zone had certified for 121 investment projects, with the total registered capital of $10.4 billion.
Many interesting speeches of practical significance in the issues of staff organization, urban development, investment promotion, and clearance compensation, etc. were delivered to all delegates at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Nhu So_Chairman of DEZA put an emphasis on key factors which created the breakthrough in 2014. Among those is the completion of political tasks assigned, contributing 30% to the GDP, 70% to the industrial output and 90% to the budget revenue of Quang Ngai province. Besides, there remained several shortcomings which need to be solved, especially the creation of a cleared land bank to attract investment and the clearance compensation have not yet met the requirements.
Mr. Pham Nhu So also added that there are some issues to be focused on in 2015 as follows: Review whether the policies and mechanisms need to be adjusted or newly issued and their feasibility in practice; focus on reforming the administrative procedures, implementing important projects in Dung Quat EZ; promote the labor restructuring; speed up the administrative reform and improve the coordination within the units.
Authorized by the President, at the conference, Mr. Pham Nhu So awarded the Second-class Labor Medal to Mr. Mai Van Thanh - Former Vice Chairman of DEZA; Third-class Labor Medals to Mr. Vo Tien Dung - Former Vice Chairman and Mr. Dam Minh Le - Vice Chairman of DEZA; and Prime Minister’s Certificates of merit to 03 individuals who made outstanding achievements in 2014.
In addition, many certificates of merit were awarded to organizations and individuals that made many accomplishments in performing assigned duties.
